Spotlighting 5 Inspirational Men of Auger

In light of International Men's Day we wanted to spotlight a few of our great male colleagues.

Neil Wilks has been the innovator of the Auger team for 14 years; beginning as one of our Claims Handlers, later becoming Operations Manager and then Head of Technology & Digital, Neil has contributed to the development of all areas of our organisation. From day one Neil was committed to moving forward, and with his strong interest and skill in Technology & IT, he moved into a role focussed on enhancing our operations through digital advancements. As Operations Manager, Neil formed strong relationships with several of our major insurance clients, using his understanding of their needs to fine-tune our service, whilst also navigating the inevitable challenges which came with the rapid expansion of our service from a regional offering to nationwide. Now, as Head of Technology & Digital, Neil is the driver behind our forward-thinking when it comes to tech, and the continual evolution of our in-house developed platforms which allow us to fulfil claims 'the Auger way'. 

David Rogers, one of our Senior Engineers, joined us as a Drainage Investigation Engineer 7 years ago. Now one of our Senior Engineers, Dave can handle any claim that comes through our doors, whether it's drainage, water mains, septic tanks or subsidence. Committed to doing 'whatever it takes', he regularly goes beyond what is expected to keep our customers and clients happy. Dave also plays a vital role in mentoring and guiding our Academy recruits, equipping them with the knowledge and skills to thrive as fully-fledged Engineers. Outside of his professional career, Dave spends time coaching a local youth football team, Leigh Rockets FC, of which we are proud sponsors. 

Chris Cowen is our Client Relationship Manager and a Business Development professional, responsible for developing honest, beneficial partnerships with our insurance clients. Prior to working with Auger for 8 years, Chris gained a wealth of knowledge and experience in the insurance industry, having previously been the Head of Sales and Business Development Director at numerous major suppliers in our sector. Chris has been instrumental in Auger's growth since 2013, and is the driving force behind partnerships with several of our most valued clients. He is our go-to colleague for the most complex technical cases, and more importantly, can always be relied upon to be a friendly and supportive figure for our team.

Anthony Teehan is our longest-standing Water Mains Engineer, and is a member of our field team in South Wales. Back in 2014, Anthony helped us develop our water supply pipe investigation and repair service to add to our drainage and subsidence offering to insurers. With 23 years' experience in the water industry and a range of qualifications and tickets, he was certainly the man for the job. Anthony has since trained several of our engineers and continued to set the standard high for the Auger water team. 

As our External Operations Manager, Michael Hearty puts in the work behind the scenes to make sure our customers have a great on-site experience, supporting our engineering teams across the UK. Mike initially joined us as a technician in 2014, and is now a valuable member of our leadership group, building strong working relationships with our 100+ directly employed engineers. Mike is always on hand to provide our engineers in the field with the support they need to identify and resolve issues on-site at customers' homes, and to overcome any obstacles they face on the way. Mike dedicates much of his free time to the RNLI, and has been an on-call Lifeboat Crew Member since April 2016, as well as regularly taking part in fundraising for the charity. 

These are just 5 of the 125 fantastic men that are part of our team at Auger. We are proud of each one, and we appreciate them not just today but every day.
